Btw, one limitation with mDNS (in its current form) is that it is link- local scope - if we anticipate a routed home network we may need to feed into the dnsext wg to explore the practicality of service discovery across router boundaries. I'd like me iTunes to work within the IPv6 home network of the future

Does this not go back to the known name issue.
I do not have a problem with it, all I want is a consistent solution that will work prior to having an ISP assigned IP address available or a DHCP address pool defined.
