No need for PSTN numbers -- use inet "phone numbers"

Hi!

In the short- to medium-term future, everyone will have its
own local PSTN gateway (at home or at the company) -- or will
buy that service from some local company.

Why don't we just start an "inet phone numbering space", independent
of the PSTN number space and everyone uses its local, self-configured
gateway to the PSTN with its local prefix to get into the "old PSTN"
world ?
