Odd MIME-ish failure

I just tried to view a message containing a PDF, and got:

  byte-code: Wrong type argument: char-or-string-p, ("filename" "796102718.pdf")

Then I hit `,' to look at the raw message, and then tried to view it
again normally, and it worked.  Ideas?
