flim, wanderlust, emacs24

 hi folks,

i am trying to upgrade to a re cent emacs-snapshot form the ubuntu 
package, which is about 11 months old, but the instlal keeps failing on 
byte-compiling flim.  it was suggested to me that in recent emacsen, 
flim's functionality has been incorporated into the main codeline.  does 
anyone know if this is true?  and if so, would it be pretty 
strightforward to use cvs wl instead of the debian wl-beta packages?
