How to set up smtp?

Hi :)

new to Emacs and Wanderlust, but a long time Linux user, I'm unable to
send emails by Wanderlust.

This is my current ~/.emacs/.wl:

If I try to send an email I get 'Sending...failed with exit value 1'.
There's no request for the password.

My settings for Evolution that work are:

Server Type: SMTP
Server: out.alice-dsl.net
[x] Server requires authentication
Use secure connection: TLS encryption
Type: Login
Username: ralf.mardorf@alice-dsl.net
[x] Remember password

For Wanderlust I added ~/.addresses and ~/.folders. The folder
~/.emacs.d/auto-save-list is empty, but there are a lot of test, resp.
garbage emails in ~, saved automatically by Wanderlust.

Any hints are welcome.
