i am often behind very stupid nats which love to lose my imap session
state so that i have to M-t M-t to reestablish.  is there a way to tell
the muppet to do keepalives?

[ fwiw, my outbound is through an ssh tunnel and my ssh_config has 
  ServerAliveInterval 60
  ServerAliveCountMax 5
  ]
