This seems not to have had any effect. I did M-x elmo-cache-expire-by-age and entered 180 for the number of days, but the cache directory still contains a lot of files older than that (e.g., December 10, 2010).
I also verified that elmo-cache-directory is the same location where I'm checking for old files.
Maybe a bug in that function?
It looks like the function isn't doing anything more than iterating through the directory structure and deleting, which is what find ... | xargs ... would do, so I guess I will go that way.
