[iesg-secretary 4921] RE: MIB compilation requirement

IESG-secretary,

please make it so.

Note: Also CHANGE the date at the top of the document to be the date of the change (Jan 6, I hope), and add the following to the bottom of the document:
--------------------------

4. Change log

Jan 6, 2003 - Added clarification on warnings from MIB compilation

----------------------------
I HOPE I've managed to mangle the subject field so that this does not cause an extra trouble ticket to appear...

Subject: Re: MIB compilation requirement in "AD Review of I-Ds"
(http://www.i etf.org/ID-nits.html)

looks good except that I would just say "the OPS ADs" and not
include a specific name, its just another document that would have
to be noticed and updated when the curent AD moves on

Makse sense.
So IESG secretary, it now reads:

OLD:
     * All MIBs must compile cleanly using "smilint -l 9"
An email service is available for the check.
Extract the MIB form the document and send it in the
body of an email to smilint@ibr.cs.tu-bs.de.

NEW:
    * All MIBs should compile cleanly using "smilint -l 9"
An email service is available for the check.
Extract the MIB from the document and send it in the
body of an email to smilint@ibr.cs.tu-bs.de.

This may cause some warnings (and the email service has
currently no mechanism to supress such warnings). Please
evaluate the warnings before assuming they are OK. If
in doubt, feel free to check on the mibs@ops.ietf.org
mailing list or with OPS ADs.
