Creating, Rechartering, and Closing a Working Group (Revised)
Dear IESG Members:
A revised version of the document "Creating, Rechartering, and Closing a
Working Group" is now posted on the Internal IESG Web Page. This version
addresses the comments and suggestions provided by Thomas and Bert. The
document can be found in the "Procedures" category of the "Reference
Materials" section.
The "Category/Subcategory" table on the "Working Groups under IESG Review"
Web page has also been revised to reflect the changes to the
procedures. Specifically, new subcategories have been added to allow the
ADs to access the charters of WGs that are in internal review by the IESG
and IAB, but are not yet ready to be considered for external IETF review,
and have not yet been placed on the agenda for an IESG
teleconference. (Previously, charters for proposed new WGs, and WGs being
rechartered, did not appear on the "Working Groups under IESG Review" Web
page until they were placed on the agenda.)
As you will see, there are now three subcategories (instead of two) under
both "WG Creation" and "WG Rechartering." The first subcategory under each
category is called "In Internal Review." The charter of a WG in this
subcategory has been sent to the IESG and the IAB for review, and the AD
may wish to revise the charter to address their comments. If the AD
submits charter revisions to the Secretariat, then the charter will be
updated and the updated charter will be accessible via the Web page. If
the AD requests that the Secretariat place the WG on the agenda for the
next IESG teleconference, then the WG will be moved to the next
subcategory: "Proposed for IETF Review" in the case of a new WG, or "Under
Evaluation for IETF Review" in the case of a rechartering.
Please let me know if you have any questions about either the revised
document or the revised subcategories.
Regards,
Barbara
