A graduate of Queen's and the University of Western Ontario, Mr. Baines has spent much of his life in the world of journalism, most notably as a business columnist with the Vancouver Sun. He writes primarily about stock frauds—the people who perpetrate them, the investors who are victimized by them and the regulators who are supposed to prevent them. His investigations have led to numerous awards for his reporting, including four National Newspaper Awards, the second highest in Canadian history.
