Democratization: Questions for the Year 2000
Born in Sussex and educated at Oxford, Professor Pateman has built an outstanding intellectual reputation in the areas of modern political theory and feminist theory. The first woman to be elected as President of the International Political Science Association, she has held academic appointments at the University of Sydney, Stanford and Princeton. Professor Pateman is considered an excellent public speaker and is the author of several books, including The Sexual Contract, and The Disorder of Women: Democracy, Feminism and Political Theory.
