The main reason you regret it is because you worked out it goes against your current business model in the long term, frankly there is nothing wrong with looking numbers up in the fact that DNS scales pretty darn well, and will continue to be about for a very long time. The main reason ENUM isn't being supported en mass is because of the loss of income on per minute calls.
