I think that an Intelligent Router (RR system) might be able :

- to change content routing information with other Intelligent routers
- to store information about CDN content (during distribution event and
user's request) 
- to monitor the CDN state
- to get request to DNS system

Ok, sorry...

I mean, what are solutions for CDI based on level 3 (intelligent
routers)?
I think it is a better approach than DNS one... but as I said, I'm new
to
this topic and I'm still looking up...
