And the currently deployed architecture violates layers by
allowing (forcing?) applications to be aware of network and
transport addresses.  If you eliminate those violations, through
whatever method of indirection, the end to end principle can
be maintained while allowing a wide variety of solutions to
the problem of multihoming.  Religious advocacy of a certain
world view results in paralysis when faced with problems which
challenge that world view.
