Greetings,
This message is being sent in response to the request sent to the
NANOG list by Bill Woodcock ( Subject: IETF draft on Operator
Requirements of Network Management Tools ).
Before I comment, I have a question or two. I am specifically
interested in what the scope of Network Management is that the WG
intends to address. The reason that I ask, is that I have
personally spoken to people who had the following views on what
Network Management entails:
a/ Device configuration management
b/ Statistical collection, to include billing
c/ Network surveillance
These all seem valid to me.
Is there a specific focus, or is the answer more along the lines
of "D. All of the above" ?
Thanks,
--bradv
