Proposed alternate milestones (Re: Straw-man charter)
Some thoughts:
- abbreviate the milestones regarding charter discussions etc to
a simple "first working group meeting in San Diego"
- mention NANOG in the discussion under "methods", but leave
it out of the milestones
- Rate limiting draft is folded into Filtering draft
- Drafts need to be listed separately in the milestones
- IP Stack requirements will be folded into the "other" or Miscellaneous
reqts
document (since otherwise it would be only a few pages) (or maybe it could
be combined with a different document?)
- It will take a couple of IETF meetings after the framework / roadmap
document is done before other documents come out
- We are not likely to be able to submit 8 or 12 documents simultaneously.
Thus I tried to take a wild guess regarding which half of the documents
would be ready first, and moved the others out by an IETF meeting.
- While we might start on the profiles early, we can't finish them until the
requirements documents are done.
This leads to the following rough estimate at Goals and Milestones:
Aug 04 First Working Group Meeting @ IETF 60 in San Diego
Sep 04 First draft of Roadmap Document as Internet Draft
Mar 05 Submit Roadmap to IESG
Aug 05 Submit In-Band management requirements to IESG (BCP)
