The IPv6 MTU isn't fixed, it just has a 1280 byte minimum. Nearly allIPv6 hosts use larger packets and perform path MTU discovery,resulting in even worse black holes than with IPv6 if the ICMPmessages are filtered because in IPv6 you can't clear the DF bitbecause there isn't one.
