RE: Last Call: IP Header Compression over PPP to Proposed Standard

IESG:

The IANA has reviewed the following Internet-Draft which is in Last
Call: <draft-koren-pppext-rfc2509bis-03.txt>, and has the following
comments with regards to the publication of this document:

The IANA Considerations section mentions 3 registries that
do may not exist. After looking in the PPP-Numbers registry I
see the following:

See: <http://www.iana.org/assignments/ppp-numbers>

IP-Compression-Protocol Types
IPv6-Compression-Protocol Types
IP Header Compression Configuration Option Suboption Types

Are these the same as what you are referring to in this
document?

Do we understand that the 2 sub-option types are to be
put in the IP Header Compression Configuration Option Suboption Types
registry?

Please clarify/confirm.

Please respond to the IANA about our concerns with regards to this
document. Failing to do so may cause delay of the approval and
publication of your document.

Thank you.

Subject: Last Call: IP Header Compression over PPP to Proposed Standard

The IESG has received a request to consider IP Header Compression over
PPP <draft-koren-pppext-rfc2509bis-03.txt> as a Proposed Standard.
This has been reviewed in the IETF but is not the product of an IETF
Working Group.

The IESG plans to make a decision in the next few weeks, and solicits
final comments on this action. Please send any comments to the
iesg@ietf.org or ietf@ietf.org mailing lists by 2003-4-5.
