RE: Proposal from mstjohns: Pre-approval of RFC 2727bis



After listening to the misgivings and worries mentioned by Ted, Margaret, Steve and Thomas, I've concluded that we should not go forward on this path.

We've uncovered *another* issue with the document, however: The document does not say when it goes into effect, or what happens to any nomcom that is active at the time.

It may be at:
- IESG approval
- ISOC Board approval
- Document publication (probably unreasonable)

and the effect may be:
- current nomcom changes its rules and attempts to conform retroactively (ie multiple members resign)
- current nomcom changes its rules for actions taken after this point, as far as possible (ie no resignation)
- current nomcom sticks to the rules in effect at its creation


I thought the second one was obvious until someone pointed out that the third one is possibly reasonable too.

It probably needs to be debated. Sigh.
