How B.C. Can Be a Showcase For the New Electricity Economy

Professor Evans was inaugural Director of the UBC Clean Energy Research Centre, Associate Dean of Applied Science from 1991 to 1994, and Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering from 1994 to 1999. A UBC graduate, he also received an M.A.Sc. degree from the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies and a Ph.D. in Engineering from Cambridge University. He worked with the BC Energy Commission and the BC Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources before joining UBC. Dr. Evans is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, the Society of Automotive Engineers, and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (UK). He is the author of Fueling Our Future: an Introduction to Sustainable Energy published by Cambridge University Press, which was short-listed for the 2007 Donner Prize for the best book on public policy published by a Canadian author.
