Ms. Stephanie Nolen

will be addressing the Vancouver Institute on November 8, 2014 at 8:15 p.m., Lecture Hall No. 2 in the Woodward Instructional Resources Centre, University of British Columbia.
Ms. Nolen has been a foreign correspondent for nearly 20 years, based previously in South Asia, Africa and the Middle East. She has won a record seven National Newspaper Awards for her reporting. Her book 28 Stories of AIDS in Africa won the PEN “Courage” Prize and was nominated for the 2007 Governor-General's Award for Non-Fiction. She won the Markwell Media Award from the International Society of Political Psychologists, for her "combination of creative brilliance, humanitarian compassion, personal courage, and the relentless pursuit of truth."
