will be addressing the Vancouver Institute on March 7, 2015 at 8:15 p.m., Lecture Hall No. 2 in the Woodward Instructional Resources Centre, University of British Columbia.

All My Puny Sorrows

A recipient of the Order of Manitoba, Ms. Toews won the Governor General’s Award for Fiction for her novel A Complicated Kindness. Additional awards have included the Rogers Writers’ Fiction Prize which she received for two other works, The Flying Troutmans and All My Puny Sorrows. This last work also made the shortlist for the 2014 Scotiabank Giller Prize. Ms. Toews holds two honorary Doctorates: one from Brandon University, the second from the University of King’s College in Halifax. This lecture is cosponsored by the UBC Creative Writing Program.
