will be addressing the Vancouver Institute on September 22, 2007 at 8:15 p.m., Lecture Hall No. 2 in the Woodward Instructional Resources Centre, University of British Columbia.
Dr. Williams has been excavating in the Mediterranean since 1968 both by land and sea and has directed UBC's two archaeological projects at Mytilene (Lesbos) and Stymphalos (Peloponnese) since 1982. He set up the Canadian Archaeological Institute's facilities in Athens in 1981, has served as President of the Archaeological Institute of America (Canada), and is currently President of the Vancouver Maritime Museum Society. His special interests include Greek cities and sanctuaries, maritime archaeology, and geophysical survey and archaeology.
