Unfortunately, research seldom works to schedule, and establishing a
timeline now would probably result in us converging on a half-baked
solution. I don't think we do anyone a favor if we make a flawed
rush to judgement.
That said, yes, I would like to see us move more rapidly. If you have
suggestions on how we could otherwise accelerate the process, I'd
love to hear about it.
My guess is that we could motivate more researchers if we could actually
provide funding, but I'm not quite ready to start holding bake
sales. ;-)
