Yes, but is it really the case that the most recent "stable" version
is this old? And that in practice, it's not longer good enough to run
with other packages?

OK, used CVS to fetch emacs-w3m, and the first step of the
instructions is to run "./configure".

But there is no such script....

OK, grabbed the one that came with the old "stable" version of
emacs-w3m... Ran with out errors, but then when I run make, it
complains "make: autoconf: Command not found".

Surely there must be an easier way. I just want to *use* wl.
