Re: A request to publish draft-moskowitz-hip-arch-05.txt as an Informational RFC

Just finished getting 3 IDs submitted for RADIUS related stuff. What my boss is paying me for (actually 802.11 and 802.1, but you get the drift..)

If I thought this document was in danger of falling into oblivion, I'd
agree. But that hardly seems the case here. The BOF is a positive
step in getting the HIP work documented and more complete. And the BOF
is only two weeks away.

Bob had asked me to publish a while back and I almost did, and then I got a community interested on taking my raw concepts and turning them into running code. I decided to wait.

Pekka and crew have since taken HIP out of my mental state and into real code. We are not taking the protocol documents here, but only the architecture docurment, btw. We all agree that protocol docs need some more work.

Probably none. I guess I'm just a bit surprised at the apparent
urgency that is being implied here, given what is in the works.

The work on the architecture is done, I would think. The BOF is directed toward the implementation, i.e. the protocol and extensions.
