will be addressing the Vancouver Institute on February 3, 2007 at 8:15 p.m., Lecture Hall No. 2 in the Woodward Instructional Resources Centre, University of British Columbia.
Professor Groening is an internationally recognized expert on the development of landscape architecture through the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. He was co-founder of his university’s interdisciplinary doctoral program “Practice and Theory of Creative Processes in the Arts.” Professor Groening has published widely, and his research includes German-American connections in landscape architecture history. His many public lectures have covered a broad and rich array of topics on the relationship of gardens to culture, political systems, community and society in general in such countries as Germany, the United States, Japan and Czechoslovakia.
