Professor Matthew Paterson

will be addressing the Vancouver Institute on April 14, 2007 at 8:15 p.m., Lecture Hall No. 2 in the Woodward Instructional Resources Centre, University of British Columbia.
Professor Paterson received his B.A. from the University of Newcastle, and Ph.D. from the University of Essex. His research interests include global environmental politics, climate change politics, international/global political economy, global environmental governance, International Relations Theory and the politics of the automobile. Some of his publications (singly and jointly) include: Automobile Politics: Ecology and Cultural Political Economy; Against Automobility; Empire’s Ecological Tyreprints; Boom or Bust? The political-economic engine behind the drive for climate change policy; and Globalisation, ecological modernization, and New Labour.
