Yes, I agree that the I* (and particularly the IESG, because that's who most
IETF folks want microphone time with) need to be in the room, but the Ultima
Cena configuration is optional.

It is also useful having people involved in IETF support activities, like
RFC Editor, ISOC, and maybe also the Secreteriat, to show their face from
time to time so people know there is a person behind the email address, but
not at every meeting.
