Weighing Lives: The Value of Being Alive

Professor Broome received his education in Mathematics, Philosophy and Economics from Cambridge, the University of London and MIT. A Fellow of the British Academy and Royal Society of Edinburgh, Dr. Broome is considered one of the foremost authorities on the interaction of economics and ethical principles. An Advisor to the World Health Organization, he has taken a particular interest in the extraordinarily complex and multidisciplinary problems which beset both the environment and health care. A prolific author, Dr. Broome is editor of the journal, Economics and Philosophy.
