Maximizing Walking Capacity After Stroke
Dr. Richards is one of the premier rehabilitation researchers in the world. Her studies have benefited the health and well-being of children with cerebral palsy and traumatic brain injury as well as adults who are recovering from stroke and those with Parkinson's disease. Dr. Richards has been invited to present her research in Australia, Germany, Italy, Kuwait, New Zealand, Sweden, and the United States. Among her many awards and honours include an honorary doctorate from the University of Ottawa (2001), a Canada Research Chair in Rehabilitation (2001), the Quebec Interprofessional Council Merit Prize (1997), the Lilian Pollard Visiting Professorship at the University of Toronto (1995), and the Dr. John Crawford Lectureship at the University of Toronto (1994).
