will be addressing the Vancouver Institute on February 7 at 8:15 p.m. in Lecture Hall No. 2 in the Woodward Instructional Resources Centre, University of British Columbia.

THE IMPORTANCE OF STORY:
THE HUNGER FOR PERSONAL NARRATIVE

Born in Vancouver, Mr. Choy has spent much of his life engaged in teaching and writing in Toronto. Since 1967, he has been a professor at Humber College and also a faculty member of the Humber School for Writers. He is a volunteer for various community literacy projects and AIDS groups and, for three years running, was elected President of Cahoots Theatre Company in Toronto. Winner of numerous awards for his work, Mr. Choy is presently writing the sequel to his best selling book, The Jade Peony.
