Professor Martin Perl Lecture

Professor Martin Perl
Nobel Laureate in Physics, 1995
Stanford University

will be addressing the Vancouver Institute on March 14 at 8:15 p.m. in Lecture Hall No. 2 in the Woodward Instructional Resources Centre, University of British Columbia.

WHAT EINSTEIN COULDN'T HAVE KNOWN:
VERY SMALL PARTICLES AT VERY HIGH DENSITIES

This talk falls on Einstein's 117th birthday. It is fitting that we celebrate the occasion with an eminent, engaging speaker who is a Nobel Laureate involved in the search to find what lies at the heart of matter. Professor Perl won his Nobel Prize for his discovery of the tauon, a very massive relative of the electron. It was a key piece for our present understanding of the basic building blocks of nature.
