Life in Harmony With Animals and Nature: Contemporary Cultural Myths
Professor Preece holds a doctoral degree from the University of Leicester and has taught at the universities of Surrey and Leicester, Mannheim and Waterloo. In addition to his position at Wilfred Laurier University, he is Maurice Young Invited Research Scholar in the Centre for Applied Ethics at UBC. Professor Preece is the author, co-author and editor of books on German politics, European socialization, animal welfare, and political theory. His most recent book: Animals and Nature: Cultural Myths, Cultural Realities, just published by UBC Press is the product of six years of intensive research into comparative religion, literature, philosophy, anthropology, mythology, ethology, and animal welfare science.
