A celebrated American composer, Professor Bresnick was the first recipient, in 1998, of the largest and most prestigious music prize ever given: The Charles Ives Living of the American Academy of Arts and Letters. His compositions cover a wide range of instrumentation, from chamber music, to symphonic compositions and computer music. His work has been performed in Germany, Italy, the U.K., Brazil, Australia, Israel, Canada and the U.S. by such diverse groups as the San Francisco Symphony, Kiel Philharmonic, City of London Chamber Orchestra and the First Minnesota Moving and Warehouse Band. He is the recipient of numerous international prizes for his musical compositions and teaching.
