God's Assassins: A Dramatization
Dr. Marchak's recent book, God's Assassins: State Terrorism in Argentina in the 1970s, contains extracts from the interviews she conducted with trade unionists, former guerrillas, bereaved parents, former members of the Third World Priests movement, conservative priests who backed the military, and military officers who were active during the military dictatorship from 1976 to 1983. The dramatic presentation of some of these interviews has been adapted for the stage by Patti Flather, and directed by John Wright of the Theatre, Film, and Creative Writing Department at UBC. Dr Marchak is President of the Humanities and Social Sciences Academy of the Royal Society of Canada.
