Confronting the Microbe Menace

One of Canada's research stars, Professor Finlay was recently chosen as one of only two researchers from around the world to participate in the prestigious Howard Hughes Medical Institute Holiday lecture on science. Focussing on infectious diseases, this lecture was delivered in "virtual real time" by satellite and on the Internet to thousands of high school science students around the world. Professor Finlay's most recent research focusses on salmonella and E.coli in our food, as well as antibiotics resisistance and vaccines.
