Nature Wars: Pests vs. People
Dr. Winston is well-known for his books on environmental issues, public policy, and bees (Nature Wars: People vs. Pests; Killer Bees: The Africanized Honey Bee in the Americas; and The Biology of the Honey Bee, published by Harvard University Press), as well as for his columns in the Vancouver Sun and numerous other newspapers and magazines. He has received many awards, including the Manning Award for Innovation, the Sterling Prize in Support of Controversy, the BC Gold Medal in Science and Engineering, and a Killam Fellowship from the Canada Council. This lecture is co-sponsored by Simon Fraser University.
